Minjian Ezhou Municipal Committee investigated the development of diamond industry
On November 9, Vice Mayor and Chairman of the Civilian Ezhou Municipal Committee, Cheng Shaoyun, along with a member of the Civil Construction Bureau, visited the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau to examine the progress of the diamond industry and the establishment of the National Diamond Tool Quality Inspection Center. Accompanied by her entourage, Cheng Shaoyun toured the construction site of the National Diamond Tool Quality Inspection Center. It was noted that the center aims to address common technical challenges within the diamond industry while fostering a shared public testing platform to enhance overall industrial competitiveness. The center received official approval from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on June 7 of this year and held its unveiling ceremony on September 17. Completion is expected by the end of next year, with intensive preparatory activities currently underway.
During the subsequent meeting, Cheng Shaoyun and her team discussed the city's efforts to promote quality standards and contribute to the development of "Five Ezhou". Representatives from nearly ten diamond manufacturing enterprises based in Yanji and Gedian provided insights into the local diamond industry’s growth and offered suggestions for further development. Cheng Shaoyun expressed strong support for the city’s quality supervision initiatives. She emphasized the importance of securing national and provincial backing for the new inspection center, ensuring it has access to essential equipment and talent. Collaboration between the center and diamond firms was encouraged, emphasizing shared resources, mutual learning, and collective advancement. Additionally, she stressed the need for enhanced training and guidance for diamond industry professionals to better serve the sector.
Cheng Shaoyun also urged continuous innovation to drive the transformation and upgrading of the diamond industry, ultimately boosting product competitiveness. She highlighted the significance of leveraging the center as a catalyst for these changes, ensuring that Ezhou remains competitive and innovative in the global market.
