On April 23, Shrek Motta, CEO of COMBINE USA, and Nina Mota, the company’s president, led a delegation of senior executives to meet with local officials in our county to fast-track the Mota synthetic diamond production project. The event was attended by County Party Secretary Lu Weidong, members of the Standing Committee of the County Party Committee, and Zhou Zongquan, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Development Zone. COMBINE USA is a high-tech enterprise with expertise across multiple disciplines, particularly in laser beam melting technology, which addresses challenges that traditional manufacturing methods cannot solve. Their production of both industrial-grade and gem-quality synthetic diamonds has found widespread applications. The Mota synthetic diamond production project, backed by COMBINE, will be established in the development zone with an investment of $160 million. Phase one of the project will introduce 500 sets of advanced equipment, with an annual output of 1.5 million carats upon completion, generating approximately $250 million in annual value. The first batch of equipment is expected to be installed and commissioned in August this year. Lu Weidong welcomed Shrek Motta and his team to Haian, emphasizing that the cooperation between both sides has entered a new phase. As a leading player in synthetic diamond production, COMBINE brings strong technical capabilities and high technological content, aligning with the direction of advanced manufacturing. To realize the goal of building the most competitive new industrial base in the north wing of the Yangtze River Delta, Haian needs to attract top-tier companies like COMBINE to establish roots and drive sustainable growth. Lu Weidong added that Haian is prioritizing the Mota synthetic diamond project and is committed to providing the best support. He urged both parties to develop detailed plans, accelerate construction, overcome challenges, and ensure the project is completed and operational as soon as possible. Shrek Motta expressed gratitude to the Haian government for its support and confidence in the project. He emphasized that the collaboration holds significant importance for both COMBINE and Haian. With cutting-edge technology and promising market potential, COMBINE is confident in the success of the project. He praised the efficiency and sincerity of the local government and expressed full confidence in investing in Haian. His vision is to transform the synthetic diamond production base into a world-class facility, research center, and trade hub for super-hard materials. Following a site visit to the project location, Shrek Motta and his team also met with representatives from the Development Zone, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Commerce Bureau, the Environmental Protection Bureau, Customs, the Power Supply Company, and the Fire Brigade to address coordination issues during the project implementation.
