Working performance and characteristics of Q47H/F-16P/C hard seal ball valve

Fixed ball valves represent the next generation of high-performance ball valves, designed for long-distance pipelines and general industrial applications. These valves are engineered to handle a wide range of media, including both corrosive and non-corrosive substances, making them ideal for use in harsh environments. Unlike floating ball valves, where the ball moves toward the seat under pressure, fixed ball valves ensure that the ball remains stationary, reducing stress on the valve seat and minimizing torque. This design leads to improved sealing performance, reduced deformation, and extended service life, making them particularly suitable for high-pressure and large-diameter systems. Each fixed ball valve is equipped with an advanced spring-loaded pre-seal assembly that ensures tight sealing on the upstream side. The valve features two seats that provide bidirectional sealing, allowing for installation without flow restriction. Typically installed horizontally, these valves come in two-piece or three-piece body configurations, with flanged connections for easy maintenance. The sealing mechanism uses reinforced PTFE embedded in a stainless steel ring, with a spring behind the ring to maintain consistent contact with the ball, ensuring reliable sealing even under varying conditions. The upper and lower stem bearings are designed without PTFE, which reduces friction and makes operation smoother. Additionally, there is no adjustment piece at the bottom of the small shaft, helping to maintain the correct position of the ball and the sealing ring. Fixed ball valves feature a full-bore design, matching the inner diameter of the pipeline for easier cleaning and maintenance. They are suitable for a variety of media, including water, gas, oil, natural gas, and acidic or alkaline corrosive substances. Their operating temperature range extends from -196°C to 350°C, and they can be operated manually, via worm gear, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic actuators. Key features of fixed ball valves include: 1. **Low Operating Effort**: Supported by upper and lower bearings, the ball experiences minimal friction, reducing the torque required for operation and eliminating excessive force caused by inlet pressure. 2. **Reliable Sealing Performance**: A PTFE sealing ring is embedded in the stainless steel valve seat, with a metal spring providing constant pre-tightening force. Even if the seal wears over time, the spring ensures continued effective sealing. 3. **Fire-Resistant Design**: To prevent catastrophic leaks in case of fire, a secondary metal-to-metal seal is incorporated between the ball and the seat. In the event of PTFE seal failure, the spring pushes the seat into contact with the ball, maintaining some level of sealing. This design meets API 6FA and API 607 fire test standards. 4. **Automatic Pressure Relief**: If internal pressure exceeds the spring’s preload, the valve seat retracts from the ball, releasing excess pressure. Once the pressure returns to normal, the seat automatically resets. 5. **Drainage System**: Drain ports on the top and bottom of the valve body allow for checking for leaks, releasing pressure during maintenance, and facilitating packing replacement. This also helps reduce contamination from the medium inside the valve. Fixed ball valves are widely used in industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, petroleum, chemicals, natural gas, steel, environmental protection, and papermaking. They can also be cleaned by injecting appropriate cleaning agents or lubricants into the system, enhancing their versatility and longevity.
