Minjian Ezhou Municipal Committee investigated the development of diamond industry

On November 9, Vice Mayor and Chairman of the Civilian Ezhou Municipal Committee, Cheng Shaoyun, along with a member of the Civil Construction Bureau, visited the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau to review the progress of the diamond industry and the establishment of the National Diamond Tool Quality Inspection Center. During their visit, Cheng Shaoyun and her team inspected the construction site of the National Diamond Tool Quality Inspection Center. It was explained that the center aims to address common technical challenges within the diamond industry while establishing a public testing platform to enhance overall industrial competitiveness. The center received official approval from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on June 7 this year and was officially launched on September 17. It is expected to complete acceptance by the end of next year. Currently, all preparatory work is progressing rapidly. Following the inspection, Cheng Shaoyun and her entourage held discussions with the head of the Municipal Quality Inspection Bureau regarding the city's quality enhancement strategies and its role in building the "Five Ezhou" framework. Representatives from nearly ten diamond manufacturing enterprises in Yanji and Gedian also joined the meeting to discuss the current state of the diamond industry in our city and provided valuable feedback and recommendations for its future growth. Cheng Shaoyun expressed strong support for the quality supervision efforts in the city. She emphasized the importance of the newly established National Inspection Center seeking national and provincial assistance to acquire essential equipment and talent. Collaboration between the center and local diamond companies is crucial—she encouraged joint efforts in building, sharing resources, and fostering mutual learning to drive industry advancement. Additionally, she urged increased training and mentorship programs for diamond industry professionals to better serve the sector. Looking ahead, Cheng Shaoyun called for continuous innovation to facilitate the transformation and modernization of the diamond industry, ultimately enhancing product competitiveness. Her vision underscores the need for strategic partnerships and sustained investment to ensure long-term success and sustainability in this key economic sector.
